What is Scrip?
Scrip is gift certificates and gift cards you purchase through Cresaptown United Methodist Youth and use like cash at numerous local and national merchants.
How does the youth ministry make money?
Participating merchants agree to sell gift cards/certificates to the youth ministry at a discount. You buy the gift cards/certificated for full face value, redeem them for full face value and the youth ministry keeps the difference as revenue. You get what you pay for! By purchasing gift cards before you shop and then spending them just as you would cash, the youth ministry benefits.
How do I purchase gift cards & certificates?
Order forms can be picked up on the desk in the Children's Church Room. You may also click here(to obtain this order form, you will need Adobe Acrobat. To get Adobe Acrobat, click here)to obtain an order form. These forms will need to be returned with your payment on or before the due date to ensure delivery to you the same week. Please note that the online order form may not be completely up to date. The complete list is located on the desk in the children's church room or you may also view it by clicking here.
Why should I purchase gift cards & certificates from Cresaptown United Methodist Youth?
Unlike most fundraisers, you are not being asked to spend any additional money to purchase items you do not want. You already know where you shop and by using the Scrip gift cards at these merchants, you earn money for the youth ministry program.
How will the money for this fundraiser be spent?
The money raised through this fundraiser will be used to offset the cost of activities, trips, and events that the youth and chaperones will be participating in throughout the year.
How long will this fundraiser run?
An advantage with this fundraiser is that it is on going. A date will be set every month for orders to be turned in. As long as the fundraiser is working we will continue participating.
How will I recieve my order?
Once orders are recieved and sorted, an announcement will be made as to where and when to pick up your gift cards. If you buy your gift cards from one of the youth that youth may deliver it to you.
Where do we get order forms and where do we turn them in?
Order forms can be picked up on the desk in the Children's Church Room. You may also fill out and print one by clicking here(to obtain this order form, you will need Adobe Acrobat. Once filled in, order forms and payment should be placed in an envelope marked "Scrip" and placed in Lori Nichol's inbox located on the desk in the Children's Church Room.

Instructions For Completing Your Scrip Order Form
1. Fill in your name and telephone number in the block provided at the top of your order form
2. Mark which "account" you would like the revenue from your purchases to go towards (please see Summary of Accounts below by clicking this link)
3. Browse through the listed merchants and decide which merchants you would use
4. The dollar value next to each merchant is the value of 1 gift card
5. In the "Qty" column, select how many gift cards of that value you would like to purchase
6. Mutiply the number of cards marked in the "Qty" column, by the dollar value listed next to that merchant and place the total dollar amount in the "Total" column (notice: for some merchants you can choose different values)
7. Scrip Add-Ins: The Scrip Fundraiser has gift cards from merchants across the country. We have sorted through all of those merchants and listed only the ones in out immediate area. If you shop in neighboring areas, or would like to purchase gift cards for someone in another area a full list is available in a whit binder marked "Scrip Merchants" and can be located on the desk in the Children's Church Room. 8. When you have marked all gift cards you would like to purchase, add all og the dollar amounts in both "Total" columns together and place your overall total amount due in the box marked "Total Due Both Columns" in the lower right-hand corner of the order form.
9. Place the completed order form in an envelope marked "Scrip" and place it in Lori's Inbox on the desk in the Children's Church Room.

Summary of Accounts
As a customer, you have the opportunity to choose where the revenue from your purchases go. Please mark on your order form your desired account. There are three accounts where revenue may go:
1) Individual student account - each student has an account specifically for them. All monies placed in their account will be used to offset their individual costs.
2) Chaperone account - a general account has been set up which will be used to offset the costs to chaperones for the various youth trips and trainings specifically concerning youth ministry
3) Discretionary account - a general account has been set up for one of three purposes:
a) those who may need extra assistance in order to go on a trip or to a conference
b) visitors that may not be regular attendees but are coming with one
c) a situation that arises where funds to assist an individual in a manner seen fit through the discretion of the youth coordinator
