Daughter of Rick & Kim Cooper of Carlos, Grand-daughter of Wilma Cooper-Winner and the late Paul E. Cooper, Carlos and Donald & Claudia Beeman of Barton.

Ashley gaduated from Beall High School, Frostburg Maryland, in 2002. She attended Allegany College of Maryland. She was in perfectly normal health until 2005. She developed bilateral paralyzed diaphragm.  She has been to just about every physician in Cumberland. She has also been tested at Johns Hopkins University, Duke University, West Virginia University and the Cleveland Clinic with no diagnosis being made.
In July of 2009, Ashley was involved in a motor vehicle accident with facial trauma, she was intubated and because of the paralyzed diaphragm, they have not been able to get her off the ventilator. She spent 8 ½ weeks in the hospital in 2009. She is confined to a wheel chair. Her home is not handicapped accessible and she has difficulty getting in and out of the house. Her parents have to carry her in and out. She needs to have an elevator installed and the cost is approximately $25,000.  Any type of help will be greatly appreciated.
